Completed in 65 days, Ciner Group is delivering 100 permanent prefabricated houses to earthquake victims.
Kenan Tekdağ, Chairman of the Board of Ciner Yayın Holding, who spoke at the handover ceremony, said, “There are indeed certain sufferings that no words can express. The earthquake disaster that happened was such a pain. We felt that pain as a nation. Since day one, our people did all they can to be a remedy. Everyone made an effort to do something through their own means. Ciner Group has also worked for making a humble contribution. We are proud of that. I would like to thank all public officials who contributed, supported, and exercised their authority to facilitate this effort. Such pain should never happen again.”
Completed in 65 days, Ciner Group is delivering 100 permanent prefabricated houses to earthquake victims. The residences were furnished with full-fledged refrigerators that are ready-to-use anytime as well as with domestic appliances, sofa suites, and bedding.

“PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO MOTHERS WITH CHILDREN WHO HAVE LOST THEIR SPOUSES”
Gürsel Usta, CEO of Ciner Group, said, "As Ciner Group, we have tried to help along with the local governments on which our factories are based and the NGOs we are affiliated with. We also knew that we needed to provide lasting relief, and this act of us had to be a cornerstone. We completed permanent prefabricated residences in two months. We demanded that the houses were to be primarily given to mothers with children who had lost their spouses in this earthquake and disabled individuals.”
“I OWE YOU A DEBT OF GRATITUDE”
Defne District Governor Buğra Karadağ stated the fact that very crucial steps were taken in 3 months. “I owe everyone a debt of gratitude, to those who contribute to today’s delivery of the prefabricated houses and to the entire Ciner family. We carefully selected the receiving families,” said Karadağ.
AFAD Vice President Önder Bozkurt said, “More than 850,000 tents have been set up since the first day of the earthquake. More than 250,000 of those were distributed in the central districts of Hatay. More than 102,500 containers were shipped to the region, and over 52,000 of those were brought to Hatay. More than 73,000 families keep living in tent cities. It is our goal to complete the construction of the permanent residences as soon as possible and present those homes to our families. The ownership of rights process will be launched in the forthcoming days. We are trying to relieve the pain of the disaster with your support. Under the scrutiny of Ciner Group, a total of 100 residences have been delivered to families. I would like to take this occasion to thank the entire Ciner Group.”
“We are gathered here to hand over these beautiful homes, which were built to be delivered to 60 earthquake victim families first, and then 40 more. First, I would like to thank Holding employees, the chairmen of the board, Mr. Turgay Ciner, and all our brothers and sisters who contributed to this effort,” said Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş.
